Workiz

Field-service CRM with Standard / Pro / Ultimate. Jobs, estimates, invoices, and online payments are core. Service plans are Ultimate. Genius Phone (2-way texting) is a separately sold phone stack — vendor-owned, so messaging still counts.

Worth it for your operation?

  • Genius Phone puts 2-way texting on the customer record when you buy that stack

  • Service plans are Ultimate-only
  • Less of a membership HVAC OS than ServiceTitan or FieldEdge

Score by criterion

The dark mark on each bar is the average of the 11 systems in this ranking. Criteria with higher weight pull the overall score more.

Jobs and dispatchweight 1.4×
8.0

A live job and dispatch board — schedule, assign techs, and see today’s work without a parallel spreadsheet.

Quotes and pricebookweight 1.2×
7.6

Quotes, estimates, or a pricebook inside the product — good/better/best or flat-rate — not a PDF from another app.

Memberships and agreementsweight 1.1×
6.5

Maintenance agreements, service plans, or memberships that renew on the customer record — not only a won job or a one-off visit.

Native messagingweight 0.9×
7.6

Native SMS or messaging inbox on the customer or job card, with team history. WhatsApp Business API also counts. One-way “on my way” blasts and marketplace apps do not.

Price and transparencyweight 0.8×
4.2

Public plan in USD, trial, and what sits outside the monthly fee. Mandatory add-ons for day-to-day dispatch work lower the score.

Learning curveweight 0.8×
8.0

English UI, job and membership vocabulary, and time until a CSR or owner-operator can dispatch without a months-long implementation project.

Editorial analysis

Workiz in detail

Workiz is the lead-driven FSM. Jobs and invoices are Standard. The phone/SMS inbox is Genius Phone, sold next door.

Who it is for

Shops that live on inbound calls and booked jobs — locksmith, garage, junk, similar trades — more than on HVAC memberships. Confirm the Genius Phone quote before you assume two-way texting is in the base fee.

What drives the score

Jobs and quotes are solid. Memberships are mid (Ultimate service plans). Messaging is true with the add-on caveat. Price is low for a page without dollars.

How we read the sources

Based on workiz.com and the Standard / Pro / Ultimate comparison (jobs, estimates, payments, service plans on Ultimate, Genius Phone sold separately).

Frequently asked questions

Why is messaging true if Genius Phone is extra?

Same rule as other vendor-owned SMS add-ons on this site. Genius Phone is Workiz’s phone and 2-way texting stack, not a marketplace app. The profile still says it is sold separately.

Do I get memberships on Standard?

Recurring jobs are on the platform. The pricing grid puts service plans on Ultimate. The membership flag follows that product line, and the score stays mid because the full agreement engine is gated.
