Score by criterion
The dark mark on each bar is the average of the 12 systems in this ranking. Criteria with higher weight pull the overall score more.
Matter intake, case status, and deadline or court-rules calendaring without a parallel spreadsheet.
Time, invoices, trust or client accounting, and collections in the same system as the matter — not a parallel bookkeeping tool.
Client portal, post-engagement updates, and a native path from lead to hired matter — not only a “won” stage.
Native SMS or messaging inbox on the matter or contact card, with team history. WhatsApp Business API also counts. Portal-only chat and marketplace apps do not.
Public plan in USD or GBP, trial, and what sits outside the monthly fee. Mandatory add-ons for day-to-day work lower the score.
English UI, matter and billing vocabulary, and time until a fee earner can work without a long implementation project.

Editorial analysis
LEAP in detail
LEAP is the UK solicitor default in many shortlists — especially conveyancing and firms that want accounting and precedents beside the matter. It is not a self-serve USD SaaS checkout.
Who it is for
UK small-to-mid law firms modernising from desktop or fragmented tools. US-only buyers should start with Clio/MyCase unless they already operate under UK practice rules.
What drives the score
Matters and fees are excellent. Price weak for quote-only. Messaging stays low — no clear native two-way SMS inbox on the record. Intake/relationship credited via enquiry and client-service tooling in the all-in-one story.
How we read the sources
Based on leap.co.uk product and FAQ sections (cost, features, mobile, trial policy).
Frequently asked questions
Is this the same product as Leap for solar?
No. Solar Leap (leap.to) is a home-services CRM. LEAP Legal Software (leap.co.uk) is a separate UK/AU legal practice platform — different company and slug (`leap-legal`).
Why is price scored low?
LEAP’s UK site says pricing is per user per month for a set term and tells you to contact them. No public rate card means opacity on this yardstick.
